Cardiology Graduation Thesis Study:

“Evaluation of the effect of verapamil on diastolic dysfunction in patients with mild to moderate hypertension"- specialty thesis under the supervision of Dinçer Uçak, MD, Professor of Cardiovascular Diseases, Chair of Department of Cardiology, Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Turkey. Thesis accepted and approved by the Thesis Commission on 07/14/2001.

Research experience as research assistant :
   
1. Cost of strategies after myocardial infarction (COSTAMI)- a multicentre, international, randomized trial for cost-effective discharge after uncomplicated myocardial infarction.  Study started in March 1999 under the supervision of principal investigators Alessandro Desideri, MD, S.Giomo Hospital, Castelfranco Veneto, Salvatore Pirelli, MD, Niguarda Hospital, Milano, Clara Carpeggiani, MD, CNR Institute of Clinical Physiology, Pisa, Italy and under the local mentorship of  Baris Ilerigelen, MD, Professor of Cardiovascular Diseases, Department of Cardiology, Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Turkey. The study design was published as “Patients at risk or patients at no risk after uncomplicated myocardial infarction? The COSTAMI project” in Cardiologia 1998 Dec;43(12):1323-6. Results were published in European Heart Journal 2003 24(18):1630-1639.

2.    ASSENCE (Assesment of  cost-effectiveness of  Several Strategies of Early diagnosis in patients with acute chest  pain and Non Conclusive Electrocardiogram)- a clinical, randomized, multicentered, international study started in March 1999 under the supervision of principal investigators Badano LP, Gregori D, Slavich G, Gremese E, Ghidina M, Fioretti PM and under the local mentorship of Baris Ilerigelen, MD, Professor of Cardiovascular Diseases, Department of Cardiology, Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Turkey. Study design was published in G Ital Cardiol 1999 Nov;29(11):1291-301.
